Donate

Rays of Relief relies on the generosity of donors such as yourselves. Your donation provides relief, allowing patients to focus on treatment, rather than being burdened with the cost. Thank you for helping us give to those in need. Donations (cash/check/money order) may be sent in to our mailing address below. Our donate button takes you into our secure PayPal site.

How we help? Our goal is to gift a $1,000 per patient to help pay for treatment, this includes daily radiation copays, deductible and coinsurance amounts. Income guidelines are set at 500% of the federal poverty level and based on household size in accordance with FPL thresholds

  • Group Health Coverage will cover a percentage of treatment, leaving co-pays, deductible and coinsurance to the responsibility of patients.
  • For patients who have Medicare without a secondary supplemental policy the 20% coinsurance can become insurmountable. These patients are what we consider in the industry as under-insured.
  • On average a 6-8 week regimen can be billed out at $80,000, this amount can double in a hospital setting.
  • For patients with commercial insurance on average radiation therapy patient responsibility is $3,000; for Medicare patients with out a supplemental policy the cost passed on to patients can be about $5,000
  • For patients who are covered through an HMO policy cost can be in the ballpark of $3,000
  • Grants awarded will offset 1/3 to 1/5 of treatment related costs.
  • There is severely limited assistance for radiation oncology patients.
  • Our grant amount coupled with the abundance of chemotherapy copay cards, non-profit grant funding for various diagnosis, regimens, and oral chemo/immunotherapy assistance; can help cover patient financial needs holistically.

Our desire is to give back to this undeserved population of cancer patients.
